This workshop may qualify for continuing education credits/learning hours when recertifying for designations (i.e. C.E.T., CFPS, CFEI, CFAA, etc.). This workshop will account for 1 hour.

WORKSHOP OUTLINE:
Firestopping is the process of restoring the hourly rating of barrier walls and doors, so they prevent the transmission of toxic smoke, flames, super-heated gasses and heat. Properly functioning firestops are essential to maintaining the safety of a building. Moreover, it is required in the National Building Code. In this session, you will learn more about why firestopping is important, and the installation and testing processes to ensure firestops work correctly.

INSTRUCTOR’S BIOGRAPHY:
Mike Cayen has been supporting end users, consultants and owners for more than 9 years with Firestop solutions in the GTA. A little more than 3 years ago, Mike joined STI Firestop, who leads the industry innovative fire protection systems that help stop the spread of fire, smoke and hot gases. For over 30 years, the STI team has worked hand in hand with the construction industry to create simple solutions to complex firestopping problems.
