Workshop Outline:
Corrosion is a significant industry problem costing millions of dollars every year. Microbiologically Influenced Corrosion (MIC) and generalized corrosion occurrences have been increasing in both wet and dry sprinkler systems causing systems to fail in a matter of years. This seminar looks to cover the basics of corrosion and what can be done to stop it.
Workshop Objectives:
Learn about new solutions available to combat corrosion and extend the life expectancy of a fire sprinkler system such as:
- Air Release Vents
- MIC testing
- Nitrogen Generators
- Corrosion Monitoring

Instructor's Biography:
Ralph Coco has been in the fire protection industry for over thirty years. From 1989 to 2000, he was employed with Wheelock as their Canadian National Sales Manager selling fire alarm signaling appliances such as speakers, bells, horns, and strobes.
From 2000 to the present, he has been employed with Potter Electric as their Canadian National Sales Manager selling sprinkler monitoring products such as water-flow, pressure, and tamper switches. A few years ago, Potter started manufacturing nitrogen generator systems to combat corrosion in sprinkler piping.
